Yes, they are related but not exactly the same. Data Analytics primarily involves looking at existing datasets to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights that assist with decision-making. It tends to use tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI to provide answers to specific business questions. Data Science is more extensive and advanced, however. It is not just about interpreting data but also developing predictive models, implementing machine learning, artificial intelligence, and managing unstructured data. Data Science usually demands robust programming and statistical skills in order to develop algorithms which predict future results. Simply put, Data Analytics informs you of "what has occurred and why," whereas Data Science foretells "what will most probably happen next." Both are highly sought after, but Data Analytics is generally the best place to begin for beginners and non-technical students.

Thank you for sharing such a clear and well-explained comparison between Data Analytics and Data Science. I really like how you simplified the difference—explaining that Data Analytics focuses on “what happened and why,” while Data Science looks at “what will happen next” makes it easy for beginners to understand.

This kind of explanation is very helpful for students and professionals who are confused about where to start. Highlighting tools and skill requirements also adds great practical value.

Also, for anyone looking to build strong digital and career-oriented skills, I found this resource quite useful:
